11 Ways Creative Marketing can Boost New Business

by Sanjit Mandal @

The numbers are enough to scare anyone. The failure rate of businesses over the 5-year mark is a little over 50%. You never planned to be part of that number, but maybe things aren’t looking so great in year two or three. A lot of factors you can’t control contribute to your business’ success or failure. One thing you have a lot of control over is your marketing. The question is, are you leveraging creative marketing? The writing has been on the wall for a long time that ad-based marketing is losing effectiveness and Millennials dismiss it entirely. That means you need something new to get the job done. You need a creative edge. Let’s dig into this and see how creative marketing can boost new business. Are You Social? Effective social media marketing almost needs to be creative marketing by definition. The essential limitations of the platforms often demand it. You MUST be creative to say anything compelling in a 140 character tweet. Bad images won’t get much traction on Pinterest, especially if they’re business oriented. Yet, with billions of people logging onto social media juggernaut Facebook, you can’t afford to ignore it. The upside to these sites is their sheer audience size. They do you the favor of announcing their interests with boards, groups, and hashtags. You only need to tap a tiny fraction of these users with some creative marketing to see customer conversions. The real gold standard, though, is user-generated content. There is simply no substitute for seeing real people using your products in pics and videos. A more mundane, but valuable byproduct of social media accounts is that they’re an ideal place to share links back to your website. Contests Contests aren’t creative on their own. At their core, all contests consist of people performing...

What is HTTPS Post Migration Issue?

by admin @ Digital Acrobatics Technology

Google has been pushing users to move to HTTPS by ensuring a kind of ranking boost to HTTPS sites. As per a recent claim of Google, 34% of Google search results are HTTPS that means users are preferably including HTTPS in their SEO strategy and getting a little ranking boost from Google. Using HTTPS is also a good sign, as it secures your site in the most efficacious & guaranteed manner.

However, if you are amongst those who had heard of Google’s such special favor to HTTPs sites, and tried to migrate their site to HTTPS but missing that special favor, & facing downturn in ranking of their website- Then your site must be facing HTTPS post migration issues. - Don’t worry; resolving all such issues is quite easy, & this article will let you find the exact & effective solution of HTTPS post migration issues.

What is HTTPS Post Migration Issue?

If HTTPS site version of an HTTPS migrated site is not set as preferred one, then both versions, HTTP & HTTPS float around the net, which creates HTTPS migration issues. Earlier, Google has said that in such cases, for indexing, it will use HTTPS version by default, but that only solves indexing issues. There are other issues too that exist because of the simultaneous existence of two site versions, and they are:

  • Duplicate content Issues
  • Link dilution Issues
  • Wastage of Crawling Budget

Let me take you through these issues first:

  • Duplicate Content Issue: In case, canonical tags of your site are not leveraged, Google will simultaneously find both the versions live, which will create a problem of duplicate content. Sometimes, in a few sites, both versions are self- canonicalized, which means tags are in place but setup is not correct, and this will also create duplicate content issues
  • Link Dilution Issue: What if two or more users come across both site versions and start sharing & lining to HTTP & HTTPS versions at same time respectively- external link will get split into two different URLS, which may cause link dilution issues
  • Wastage of Crawling Budget: If both, HTTP and HTTPS versions are live then at the end, search engine will stop crawling both of them, and hence your crawling budget will be wasted. Crawling two versions doubles the workload of search engines that can be very problematic for large sites

How can you Resolve HTTPS Post Migration Issues:

1. Let the HTTP version URLs 301 redirect to the HTTPS versions sitewide

2. Never use 302 Redirects as migration should only be like HTTP 301 redirects to HTTPS, while with 302, it is like 302 redirects HTTPS to HTTP

3. For a correct HTTPS set up:

  • It is essential to make sure that HTTPS site version is added in Bing Webmaster Tools & Google Search Console
  • In Google Console, it is also essential to add www & non-www versions. Additionally, you need to set your preferred domain under HTTPS version
  • Internal links should point to the HTTPS version URLs sitewide. Alongside this, all external links, which are in your controlling domain should also point to HTTPS URL versions
  • You need to ensure that XML Sitemap has HTTPS URL versions, and canonical tags should also point to HTTPS URL versions

Creating a Social Media Campaign for Small Business

by Sanjit Mandal @

Today, over 70% of Americans use social media for connecting with others and sharing ideas. As a business owner, your online presence represents a powerful tool in advertising, exposure, and creating overall revenue for your brand. However, creating the right social media campaign can feel overwhelming or confusing. We’re here to break the steps down in a way that makes sense and helps you even enjoy the process. Let’s get into it! Creating Your Social Media Campaign Plan, Plan, Plan It doesn’t matter whether you are about to launch a new service or product or just want to create some more buzz around something that already exists. The important takeaway here is: have a strategy. Just like any other marketing strategy, never go in haphazardly without intentions or motives. This is a surefire way to look like you lack focus or direction. It’s hard to keep your audience’s attention engaged when you don’t seem like you know exactly what you’re doing. Your social media campaign allows you to highlight how awesome your small business is at giving their customers what they want. It’s also a chance to highlight what you can offer as a company to a potential audience who may not know much about you. Therefore, you must plan out your objectives. Ask yourself these questions to get started. Spend some time with these. Write them down and edit as needed: What am I trying to achieve? Who is this campaign meant for? And what do I actually want my audience to receive, learn, or do as a result of this campaign? Which tactics am I planning to use? (Videos? Blog content? An Ebook giveaway? A tutorial? Celebrity influencers?) What is the best outcome that can come from this campaign? How much time am I willing to devote to planning and executing? Do I...

How Startups Should Spend their Marketing Budget

by Sanjit Mandal @

Since business school, you haven’t been able to shake one statistic from your mind: the infamous claim that 90% of startups fail. But here you are, getting into the startup game anyway. This means that you’re already fearless, and willing to do whatever it takes to get your startup into that 10%. We know you have it in you. But, since the odds are so stacked against you, you can’t afford to make one wrong move – especially this early in the game. You also can’t afford to misspend a single dollar. In fact, you need to find the best and fastest ways to turn that dollar into much more. That’s where we come in. We’ve created this no-BS, rapid-fire guide on how to get the most out of your marketing budget. We’re telling you how to spend it, and why you should heavily invest in your marketing budget, in this epic post. We’ll also tell you where you can find the best marketing services. 1. You Gotta Get A (Media) Gimmick When you’re a startup, anything you can do (within reason) to get attention is a good thing. However, since you’re operating in the insanely fast-paced world of startups, if you just imitate ideas that other companies have already put out, you’re already behind the times. You need to prove right from the get-go that you’re an innovator. If you can’t, why would anyone want to give you capital? Use some of your marketing budget to invest in some truly out-of-the-box ideas. For example, hold a pie-eating contest on March 14th. Have an open bar and invite the press and top bloggers and influencers in your industry. Why not host a beach weekend and fly out potential investors? No matter your budget, remember that the amount you spend matters much less...

10 Problems Faced by Entrepreneurs and How SEO Can Help

by Sanjit Mandal @

Being an entrepreneur was never supposed to be easy. From building your brand to getting noticed on the web to fulfilling customer expectations, the problems faced by entrepreneurs are extensive. But being an entrepreneur is also, as you know, very rewarding. Creating something from nothing and turning it into your own piece of the pie is one of the greatest feelings of entrepreneurship. The spirit of a true entrepreneur can’t be broken through problems or failures. An entrepreneur will continue to move ideas forward no matter what they face. Many of the problems faced by entrepreneurs can be solved by understanding and implementing best SEO practices. Here, you’ll learn about ten problems faced by entrepreneurs and how they can be overcome with solid SEO. Now, let’s take a closer look. 1. How To Choose the Right Business If you don’t choose the right business, failure is bound to happen. Even a great marketing strategy and SEO isn’t going to help. When deciding on which business is best for you, consider the following factors: Does my product or service help people in a way they want to be helped? Does my product or service solve an obvious problem and provide a solution? Is it something people are actually going to want? Figuring out the answers to these questions is going to take time and market research. The worst way to go into business is by getting approval from friends and family, then jumping in head first. Without getting thorough and honest opinions from people outside your circle, you have no business going into… well… business. Several years ago an acquaintance decided to start a high-end wine bar in a small college town of about 20,000 residents. He had more than enough working capital to run in the red for about a year....

10 must have features for e-commerce websites

by admin @ Digital Acrobatics Technology

The e-commerce websites can be immensely creative and unique! The aim of the e-commerce websites is to provide an easy and flexible User Interface which would simply make the shopping and browsing experience easy for the visitors. Developers of e commerce websites come up with different features and tempting offers which would grab the customers and keep them coming for more! From graphics, images and code to filtered searching, reviews, ranks etc, there are numerous such elements which make it easy a flexible for the shopper’s to come at a decision! If you are building up an e commerce website or just need to know regarding various key points which make the e commerce websites stronger, here are 10 basic and the most important features every e commerce website must have!

  1. Flexible and simple user Interface

What is the use of building a website which is complex to use and where most of the users would simply not get able to understand or use the features of the website? The users would require a very simple and easy to use website from where they can easily browse the products, gets information regarding it, view details like reviews, ranks and much more. If a person gets a product with easy searching and filtering options and proper reviews regarding the desired products, the percentage of increase in sales gets high. Trusted products and easy operation is a key to a successful e commerce website!

  1. Immensely catchy images and use of videos

Attractiveness is immensely important in e-commerce websites. The more catchy and satisfactory the product images are, the more are the chances that the products would get sold. In today’s highly digital and visual shopping market, the images and videos are to be highly clear, attractive and realistic. There are e-commerce websites which are very strict about the image editing and there’s a reason behind! The images have a very high impact on the customer’s minds regarding the product. Catchy and real images about the products would simply get more customers online!

  1. Social presence and connectivity

Social connectivity is very important for the e-commerce websites to build. The e-commerce websites and the sellers associated with some social platform would get more trustworthy and flexible. Companies nowadays are involved in digital marketing and social media marketing due to the significance of the social media. The social media has numerous contacts and business and through this, the customers would get aware regarding the authenticity and presence of the sellers. Customers browse the social media profile, enquire about the genuineness and significance of the products and then can purchase without issues. Thus social presence and connectivity boosts online sales!

  1. Security

Security is a very important aspect for all the sites and especially the e-commerce websites. If a customer is unsure about the products or information regarding the product, the impact for buying the products would simply get low. Also some customers like to keep the purchases and their data secret which must be considered in the e-commerce websites. Cyber crimes are highly prevailing in the market nowadays and thus, it is very important for e-commerce websites and platforms to keep the data of the buyers and sellers protected.

  1. Flexible payment options

Not everyone’s pockets are filled with buck and buck and neither all of the customers have credit cards. People generally look for wide spread and vivid payment options for convenient and easy payments. There are numerous options like Cod, PayPal, EMI’s, debit card payments and much more which makes it easy for the customers to pay. Wider payment options would make it comfortable and easy for the customers to select the appropriate and flexible payment option they opt for!

  1. Satisfactory shipping information

Some e-commerce websites lack in providing in detail and satisfactory information regarding product shipping. This would act as a layback for some customers. Detailed shipping information would be able to get the customers more patient and aware about their products. Also information about the shipping charges is a must.  Some customers are unaware regarding shipping charge status and mislead the payments. Thus detailed information regarding the shipping charges and the detailed information regarding the shipment is immensely necessary to keep the customers aware.

  1. Proficient features like cart and wish list

Have you ever wondered how easy and flexible the carts ad wish lists make shopping easier? Imagine if you have bulk items which you want to buy but not on the spot! The wish list would simply get you back to the products you were interested in before within just a click. How hectic it would get to search for the same product again in the entire shopping zone! Carts make it easy to add more than one product in the shopping list and continue to add more. Features like this would make it far easier for the customers to shop for more products easily and also add products for future shopping. Also it makes easy for the market places to trace the interest of the customers and to provide related items and offers to the customer!

  1. Special offers and sale

Who does not like sale? 90% people simply buzz into the e-commerce websites for shopping during the sale period. Sale and special offers would simply boost the sales with amazing profits! Special offers grab much more customers than the normal sales. Customers would simply get more attracted to the e-commerce websites which provide special offers and discounts to the customers for savings!

  1. Mobile friendly website

Nowadays more than anything, the mobile phones is used. It is very important to build a mobile friendly version of e-commerce website as most of the people browse the products from phones. The websites which are perfectly visible in the mobile phones have more chances to grab the attention of the users for sure!

  1. Related items

Related items provide an amazing and close to similar products of what the customers are searching for! With personal experiences we can say that related items help quite a much in searching the accurate and desired products. The related items would simply make it easy for the customers to search for the product he/she is looking for and that is what e-commerce website is all about!

10 Ways to Use SEO for Market Expansion

by Sanjit Mandal @

Only 20% of businesses make it past the first decade. It’s during these ten vital years that you need to solidify your market expansion strategy and grab market share. As digital becomes an ever more important environment for business, an effective SEO strategy has become an indispensable tool. Chances are that your business will rely on organic searches for a lot of its income. This is because in the early stages of its life you likely won’t have an awful lot of budget to spend on paid-for marketing such as display ads or PPC campaigns. SEO is a cost-effective tool to achieve business growth with comparably small amounts of effort – but you need to get it right or you’ll miss out on thousands of potential organic search leads. Here are 10 tips on how to undertake market expansion using SEO tactics. 1. Pick an SEO-Friendly Name The first port of call for many startups – besides the inspiration for, and nature of, the business – is its name. We’re sure you’ve got loads of brilliant, catchy names running through your head. But these days, a great name isn’t enough – it needs to be a great name which fits into the keywords you want to target in your SEO activity. Nowadays, a company like Amazon might not do so well. Why? Well, although it’s undeniably a behemoth of an organization today, its name simply has nothing to do with what it does. If you don’t let people know what you do in your own name and don’t have the marketing budget to go out and tell people what you’re doing – how will they know? And why would they search for that name? SEO market expansion isn’t possible if no one can ever find your company online. 2. Manage...

Top 5 things that New Marketers don’t Understand about SEO

by admin @ Digital Acrobatics Technology

SEO is puzzling, it incorporates such a wide variety of components, and if that is not enough, constant change is in its genes. Google frequently updates algorithms, and ranking of websites gets shifted as per that, which is a headache for marketers.

Additionally, there are misleading facts about tactics, which can let you secure good page rank in SERPs, which again creates a more perplexing roadmap for new marketers- a map which has so many twists & turns, lots of dilly-dally, and that’s why it leads to lots of confusion.

Commonly these five things (mentioned below) about SEO create more confusion in the head of new marketers as they never get clear information about such facts. This article will clear all the air about such intrigue and important SEO facts. Just go through these five points:

  1. Besides Google, there are Many other Search Engines too:

Google is undeniably a leader in web searches, but there are other options too that can let you have an edge, as generally, marketers do not go for other search engines. What if I say that YouTube is second-largest search engine behind Google- Surprised? – But it is true, and it is quite effective in ensuring lots of conversion for those marketers who know how to use it.

Another competitor of Google is Microsoft’s search engine Bing, which is gaining lots of popularity these days, even its search traffic is growing more rapidly compared to of Google. Amazon, despite being an e-commerce giant, is also a powerful search engine, and hence projecting your brand through wide spectrum of search engines will ensure enhanced traffic and increased revenues

  1. There are many ways to be visible in SERPs & Google results:

New marketers have an impression that ranking in Google or SERPs can only be assured by using on site SEO and by building backlinks, but that is not the only case. There are other ways too that can ensure more visibility in SERPs. For reaching at the top spots of SERPs, you should get into Google’s Knowledge Graph, as this ensures big boost to your brand.

By using structured data markup, you can include visual enhancements in your SERP listing that is also quite effective in enhancing visibility. Use of AMP (accelerated mobile pages) is also quite effective.

  1. SEO includes variety of specialties to drive online campaigns

SEO is an effective & expanding internet-marketing channel that further includes so many different disciplines like technical SEO, organic SEO, link building, local SEO, content marketing, global SEO and so on. All of these are equally significant and they need specific skill set for their apt implementation.

Figuring out one technique, which is best fit for your site to rank in SERPs, will aid you in designing apt campaign strategies for your brand. For this, you should be clear about the technique that you want to use for enhancing online presence of your brand.

  1. SEO can be efficiently used to rank your site in different countries

If you are also confused about the most fitting technique that can let you target market of other countries in a result-oriented fashion, then SEO can also ensure higher rank for your site in foreign countries. Having a country specific domain for you site is one of the most effective ways of targeting market of a particular country. Hosting separate content for each country is also quite profitable.

You should translate your content into foreign languages, and additionally, listing your business in web dictionaries of specific countries, and registering business in foreign countries will aid you in establishing your brand in other countries.

  1. Content Marketing is the most competitive segment

Content is the king of digital marketing, I know you would also know this, but important part is that every single marketer knows this. Then, how you can let your content rule in market and ensure conversions- you have to be at the top of your skills when going for keyword research. Invest most of your time & money in hiring a pool of best writers who can create engaging, interesting and quality content with attention grabbing headlines.

Update your blog on regular basis, stay updated with recent developments of online marketing, and use tools like Moz Content & BuzzSumo for analyzing strategies of your competitors.

It’s not that people and companies don’t believe in SEO, rather, they can’t decide if their efforts are making or costing them money. As a SEO agency, we know proper optimization has the potential to produce not only positive, but …

Marketing Advice for Entrepreneurs from an SEO Expert

by Sanjit Mandal @

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and it’s the general formula for how search engines such as Google, Bing or Yahoo provide the results you need. Entrepreneurs, whether focused on a personal blog, content marketing, social media market etc, should gain some SEO knowledge in order to optimize their existence on the web. Personally, as an SEO expert, I can say that using SEO techniques are essential to have in your marketing toolbox. This is because, today, Google rules the internet! Therefore, in order to help entrepreneurs on their journey of online marketing, I have gathered some of my best marketing tips from my perspective. First things first: BE INTERESTING: Naturally, search engines rank websites higher, if they attract genuine attention. In other words, when it comes down to it, people don’t follow stand alone, dull blogs. Instead, people follow engaging stories and they follow fun personalities. Marketing blogs work best when content is compelling and interesting to read. Plus, they work even better when people know what or WHO to expect when they go online. Just ask Mimi and Alex Ikonn, entrepreneurs founders of Luxury Hair, a 7-figure eCommerce business which has boomed thanks to blogs and SEO expertise. Together, and through the use of their separate personal blogs, the couple has become a hot online personality. One look at Mimi’s Blog and we were quickly dazzled by her lifestyle, a fact which has translated to their grand success in sales. So…it seems obvious right? Be interesting, tell a story and you have a successful content! Not so fast. You’d be surprised as to how many blogs are out there publishing absolute nonsense. It doesn’t take an SEO expert to know that blogs posting nonsense have no chance of ranking in Google. Also interesting to note, most people don’t read deeply....

A Brief History of Search & SEO

by Blake Webster @ Media Design Services, Inc.

Tracing the history of SEO is kind of like trying to trace the history of the handshake. We all know it exists, and we know it’s an important part of business. But we don’t spend a ton of time thinking about its origins — we’re mostly concerned with how we use it day-to-day.
But unlike the handshake, SEO is fairly young, and changes frequently. Quite appropriately, it appears to be a millennial — its birth is predicted to fall somewhere ...

Latest Development Related to Markup & Structured Data

by admin @ Digital Acrobatics Technology

Structured data is effective in making a particular kind of web content accessible and understandable easily by search engines. Because structured data on page is tagged with the standardized identifying codes, processing & interpreting it, is quite easier compared to the regular WebPages.

Concept of structured data is quite important & so many platforms are including it in their website development efforts. Schema.org lets you parse free from arbitrary codes of HTML quite easily, which is otherwise a huge task. It creates more certainty about the true contents of pages, and once your developers master overall structured data capabilities, it may offer a lot more advantages. Let me take you through some of the recent developments in structured data field:

Increase in the functioning speed of Mobile Apps:

Increasing speed of mobile apps offers many benefits and Facebook did it first by announcing FIA (Facebook Instant Articles). FIA lets publishers use a certain set of protocols, which makes their content get loaded instantly when a user clicks on that. FIA leverages op: tags, HTML5 tags, Open Graph & op-* classes. FIA is present inside Facebook, and with this, publishers can easily integrate their own analytics and ads. Facebook may also sell ads on your behalf, and hence this may offer many benefits to publishers than they can imagine. As per reports of Vox & Buzzfeed, FIA also increases organic reach.

Like Facebook, Apple launched ANA (Apple New Articles), for which content is provided through RSS or Apple News Format. Functioning of it is JSON-based and its metadata is similar to Schema.org. Recently Google also entered in this fray, and launched Accelerate Mobile Pages (AMP), and unlike FIA & ANA, AMP is an open platform. Functioning of AMP is based on HTML elements & its own JavaScript library.

Google Rich Cards

To present its search results, Google has made Google Rich Cards as its basic unit. It uses Schema.org markup and it includes rich snippets, which aid in displaying content of SERPs in more engaging visual formats. Google Rich Cards is a type of “rich result” that makes it easier for Google to conglomerate different types of presentation units quite easily. Google Rich Cards is quite effective in offering better mobile experiences to users, and AMP supports it.

Google Structured Data Testing Tool

The Structured Data Testing Tool of Google lets you have amazing preview capabilities, and it aptly shows all the errors that your structured data have. With this, all kinds of structured data type examples can be opened directly. It has keyword shortcuts for all kinds of search & search-end functions, and additionally, Rich Cards’ reports can further be added to search console, which eases the task of managing structured data testing process. JSON-LD & Schema.org get auto-completed in the testing tool.

Use of GTIN to Identify GS1 Trade Items

GS1 prefixed code is used to attribute meaning to data encoded within a bar code symbol, and hence it defines trade items that are anyhow used in supply chain at any point. GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) is the number that specifically identifies each of the trade items in the most appropriate manner possible. GS1 Smart Search Standard exists as an extension of Schema.org, and it offers beneficial features that leverage working of e-commerce sites.

Acceleration in Use of JSON-LD

Overall format of JSON-LD is quite easier compared to its counterparts, and one can easily implement it without errors. Firstly, in 2014, Google, rather started adding its support for JSON-LD, and after May 2016, JSON-LD has official support of Google for everything excepting breadcrumbs. Amongst different distributed content platforms, discussed earlier; such as FIA, ANA & AMP, only Google’s AMP supports JSON-LD. Market players like Bing & Yandex also supports JSON-LD, but their support is limited compared to Google.

SEO generally deals with the structured data in the form of Scema.org, which is a standard, best fit for search engines. It is reliable, quite stable, and most importantly highly extensible, because of which, it has widely adopted by most of the online platforms. Now, it is most important factor of linked data development related to search engines. Structured data comprises the correct balance between expressiveness and complexity, while its functioning is community driven that let marketers get productive results on SERPs.

And did you also know that half the people that search for products/services via smartphone end up becoming the customers of the businesses they discovered online? There isn’t...
